Dual Credit
About
A Dual Credit student is enrolled in a community college while enrolled in high school and receiving high school and college credit for postsecondary coursework.
Admission to Dual Credit
- Students must be classified as a junior or senior. Students not classified as a junior or senior may be considered for admission if they have an ACT composite score of 30 or higher.
- Students must have taken the ACT or ACCUPLACER. ACT subscores or ACCUPLACER scores are used to place students in the appropriate courses.
- Students must have an unconditional written recommendation from a high school principal or guidance counselor.
- Students taking academic courses in either a face-to-face or online format must have a high school GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Students taking career/technical courses must have a high school GPA of 2.0 or higher and be high school sophomores or higher.
- Online students: must have internet access and a reliable desktop computer or laptop.
How To Enroll
Face to Face and/or Online
Students interested in participating in this program should contact their respective high school counselor prior to enrollment at ̨Íå²Ê¹Ù·½ÍøÕ¾. Upon completion of high school, students must submit an official final transcript showing confirmation of high school graduation before College transcripts will be released.
- Complete a ̨Íå²Ê¹Ù·½ÍøÕ¾ CC application.
- Submit an official signed high school transcript.
- Submit official ACT scores (typically on the high school transcript) or take the ACCUPLACER test.
- Submit this and the Waiver of Rights to Privacy of Records (FERPA) Form.
Important Things to Know
- No financial aid is available for dual credit students.
- Developmental education courses are not eligible for dual credit.
- Upon completion of high school, students must submit an official final transcript showing confirmation of high school graduation before College transcripts will be released.
- Students planning to attend ̨Íå²Ê¹Ù·½ÍøÕ¾ CC once they have graduated high school will be required to submit a new ̨Íå²Ê¹Ù·½ÍøÕ¾ CC  as a high school graduate. They should then follow all the admissions requirements of a Beginning Freshman. These requirements can be found under the Admissions section of our .
