The Spring 2023 honorees in the IDEAList employee recognition program at ̨ʹٷվ Community College were honored at the June Board of Trustees meeting.

IDEALists can be nominated by anyone and should model the IDEALS as identified in the college values of Integrity, Diversity, Excellence, Accountability, Leadership and Stewardship.

In alphabetical order the honorees are as follows:

Joyce Brasfield Adams of Jackson, Instructor and Computer Lab Manager, Nursing and Allied Health Center. A 2023 retiree, she was at ̨ʹٷվ for 38 years. She taught orientation and learning strategies and offered academic support to nursing and allied health students.

Stacey Duke of Pearl, Public Speaking Instructor, Rankin Campus. She has been at ̨ʹٷվ for 25 years. She has 32 years of teaching, including seven years at Pearl River Community College.

Donny Epting of Clinton, Recruiter and HBCU Liaison for Enrollment Services, Utica Campus. He has been at ̨ʹٷվ 7 ½ years. He assists students by providing them information on the benefits of attending ̨ʹٷվ and guides them through the enrollment process. He also served as the play-by-play livestream commentator during the men’s and women’s basketball games.

Stan Fisher of Flowood, Chief of Police/Director of Security, Rankin Campus. He has been at ̨ʹٷվ for more than six years. His job is to “protect, serve and assist all students, faculty and staff”; protect and preserve college property and assets and enforce all federal, state and local laws as well as college rules and policies.

Lawrence Greene of Canton, English Instructor, Jackson Campus. He has worked at ̨ʹٷվ for 15 years. He oversees the English department at the Jackson Campus and teaches English composition and literature classes.

Christopher Gunn of Ridgeland, Director of Physical Plant Operations, Raymond Campus. He has been employed at ̨ʹٷվ for five years. He directs the daily maintenance operations, custodial operations and oversees projects.

Paul Heindl of Clinton, Music Instructor, Raymond Campus. A ̨ʹٷվ alumnus, he has been at the college for 12 years. He teaches all the percussion students, including private lessons and ensembles.

Tangela Myles of Brandon, Child Care Director for the Rankin Campus. A ̨ʹٷվ graduate, she has been at ̨ʹٷվ for 22 years. She provides a safe environment for the children and families served by the center and a quality early childhood education.

Melanie Pinter of Philadelphia, Director of the Associate Degree Nursing program, Nursing and Allied Health Center. She has been at ̨ʹٷվ four years. She plans, organizes and implements Associate Degree Nursing program goals and activities.

Joycelyn Washington of Clinton, Dean of Students, Nursing and Allied Health Center. She has been at ̨ʹٷվ almost 30 years. She plans events and handles student conduct cases, among other student-related duties, and is also the adviser for Phi Theta Kappa and Student Government Association.
