Collegiate Choir
The ̨Íå²Ê¹Ù·½ÍøÕ¾ Community College Collegiate Choir is a non-auditioned choir under the direction of Andrew Head, and its members are from the student body (primarily from the Raymond Campus). Approximately one half of the choir members are music majors and approximately one third are voice majors. Academic and technical programs from across the college are well-represented in the ranks of the Collegiate Choir.
The choir performs annual Winter and Spring concerts on the Raymond Campus in addition to numerous concerts at churches in the Jackson Area. The Collegiate Choir has performed at the American Choral Directors’ Association Conventions at the state level. The HCC Choir has performed the Mozart Requiem in Mexico City, Mexico, the Verdi Requiem, and Poulenc’s Gloria with the University of Southern Mississippi Orchestra.
Members of the ̨Íå²Ê¹Ù·½ÍøÕ¾ Choir have participated in National American Choral Directors Association Conventions in Phoenix, AZ and San Diego, CA.
The Collegiate Choir meets Thursday from 11:00 a.m.—12:15 p.m.
Scholarships are available to all eligible students.
̨Íå²Ê¹Ù·½ÍøÕ¾ Harmony Choir
̨Íå²Ê¹Ù·½ÍøÕ¾ Harmony is an auditioned ensemble of 20—25 students under the direction of Andrew Head. ̨Íå²Ê¹Ù·½ÍøÕ¾ Harmony is the premiere ensemble of experienced choral singers. Harmony performs challenging choral literature from the Renaissance to the present. Membership in the Collegiate Choir is a co-requisite for participation in this ensemble.
The Harmony Choir meets Monday and Wednesday from 11:00 am – 12:15 pm.
