Theatre Department
Overview
The Theatre Department offers experience in all facets of acting, make-up, scenery construction, and other technical aspects of theatre. Specialized advising is available for transfer to specific universities.
Typically the fall theatre production of the year is scheduled for the middle of October, and the spring production is scheduled for early April. To learn more about our upcoming shows visit the Lendon Players page.

The Lendon Players is an organization created for students who are interested in dramatics and the theatre arts. Develop your skills and deepen your interests in the field of drama. Club members take part in the production of plays.

Scholarships
Interested students should fill out the ̨ʹٷվ CC application for scholarships.
Applications are due by February 15th each year.
Dorothy Brownlee Scholarship
The Dorothy Brownlee Scholarship has been established through the ̨ʹٷվ Community College Foundation by Mrs. Dorothy Morris Brownlee.
A graduate of ̨ʹٷվ Agricultural High School and ̨ʹٷվ Junior College Class of 1935, Mrs. Brownlee has always had a passion for theatre. Mrs. Brownlee has also served on the Development Foundation Board of Directors.
To be eligible, a student must be a full-time freshman or sophomore majoring in theatre or speech. The student should also be enrolled full-time on the Raymond Campus and should maintain at least a 2.5 GPA.
Scholarship recipients are expected to actively participate in the Theatre program at ̨ʹٷվ. Interested students should fill out the ̨ʹٷվ Community College Application for Scholarships. Applications are due by February 15th each year.
Bo Byrnes Memorial Scholarship
The Bo Byrnes Memorial Scholarship has been established through the ̨ʹٷվ Community College Foundation by Bo’s Aunt, Theresa Moody.
Bo Byrnes grew up in Greenville, MS and was 24 years old at the time of his death. He attended ̨ʹٷվ Community College from 1990 to 1992 and was a member of the Lendon Players, performing in several productions and receiving the Maxwell Award for best actor in a supporting role for “Lend Me a Tenor” in 1993.
Bo discovered his love for acting and the stage during his senior year of high school and the Lendon Players gave him the opportunity to explore his talent and comedic spirit during his years at ̨ʹٷվ. This scholarship is in his memory and is to be awarded to a student possessing the same love of the stage and the Lendon Players.
To be eligible, a student must be a sophomore and an active member of the Lendon Players. The student should also be enrolled full-time on the Raymond Campus with at least a 2.5 GPA.
